About St Julians
On the northern coast of Malta, neighbouring Sliema, is the bustling town of St Julians. It is best known for its nightlife, especially the area known as Paceville.
The one-time fishing village is now a mecca for tourists and also very popular with locals due to the concentration of entertainment venues, hotels and restaurants. The vibrant town’s Spinola Bay still has its own charm, especially late in the evening, when the lights from the restaurants surrounding it are reflected on the bay’s water, which is always dotted with small fishing boats.
Balluta Bay also attracts a lot of people with its restaurants, cafes and promenade that stretches all the way from Paceville to Gzira. Although most of the older buildings have given way to more modern developments, Balluta Buildings, which overlook the bay, are still an attraction. Built in the 1920s, they are a fine example of Art Nouveau architecture.
